World Trade Organizations (WTO) Essay Award 2022

The World Trade Organizations (WTO) Essay Award 2022 is now accepting applications.

The award’s goal is to support high-quality research on trade policy and international trade cooperation while also strengthening the WTO’s partnership with academia.

The winning article may be published in the Working Paper Series of the World Trade Organization. It is the obligation of the author(s) to make every effort to get the contribution published in a journal.

Prize

The winning author(s) of the WTO Essay Award get a reward of CHF 5,000 each year. If the article is co-authored, the award will be split evenly among the authors.

The winning paper will be announced during the European Trade Study Group’s (ETSG) annual meeting, the world’s biggest conference on international trade. The award ceremony will take hold at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands on September 8-10, 2022. The winning author will be compensated for his or her attendance at the conference.

World Trade Organizations Essay Award 2022 | Eligibility Criteria

Trade policy and international trade cooperation must be addressed in the report.

The paper’s author(s) must have a PhD degree or be working toward one, and be no more than two years past their PhD defense if they are over 30 years old.

This criterion will apply to all authors in the event of co-authored articles. In addition, articles must be under 15,000 words in length to be considered for the award.

How to Apply for the World Trade Organisations Essay Award 2022

  • the essay
  • the author(s)’ CV, which includes I present affiliation(s), (ii) the academic institution that awarded the PhD, (iii) the year (or predicted year) of the PhD, and (iv) the author’s date of birth (s).
