World Bank Junior Professional Associate Program Requirements

To be qualified for the World Bank Junior Professional Associate (JPA) Program in the United States, you must meet the following minimal requirements: ​

  • On your first day of duty, you must be 28 years old or younger.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
  • Be able to communicate well in English.
  • Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish are among the Bank’s working languages. ​

Similarly, having the following offers you a leg up on the competition:

  • Your academic accomplishments are exceptional, and you rank among the top students in your graduating class.
  • Economics, finance, human development (public health, education, nutrition, population), social sciences (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environment (climate, blue economy), infrastructure, private sector development, and other related fields, including corporate and administrative functions, benefit from your analytical and research skills (IT, legal, accounting, communications, etc). ​

How to Apply for World Bank Junior Professional Associate Program

  • Candidates may apply online if they are interested. Please keep in mind that applications will be active in the database for six months. You must reapply if you are still interested in the JPA program after six months.
  • Only those who have been selected for an assignment will be contacted to discuss their availability and interest.

Note that candidates are selected by the hiring manager on a highly competitive basis.​
