White House Fellowship Program for Young Professionals in the U.S. 2022
The White House Fellowship Program for 2022–2023 is now accepting applications.

Lyndon B. Johnson founded the program in 1964, and it is now one of America’s most famous leadership and public service programs.
White House Fellowships provide extraordinary young men and women with first-hand experience working at the federal government’s highest levels.
Selected candidates serve as full-time, paid fellows to senior White House staff, Cabinet Secretaries, and other high-ranking government officials for a year.
Fellows also take part in an Education Program that includes roundtable conversations with business and public sector experts as well as travels to see US policy in action both at home and abroad.
Fellowships are granted without regard to political affiliation.
White House Fellowship Program Requirements
Applicants must be citizens of the United States.
Unless they are career military members, employees of the federal government are not eligible.
By the time they begin the application process, applicants must have finished their undergraduate studies.
Selection Criteria
The following criteria are used to determine somebody becomes a White House Fellow:
- Early in one’s career, a track record of outstanding professional performance.
- Evidence of leadership abilities as well as the possibility for future development.
- Dedication to public service has been shown.
- The capacity to operate successfully as part of a team and the ability to achieve at the highest levels of the federal government.
Application for White House Fellowship Program
The application has six major sections:
- Personal Information
- Recommendations
- Declarations
- Resume
- Essays
- Certification
The application and three recommendations must be completed online for the application to be complete.
Only submissions received before the deadline of January 7, 2022, will be considered.
