TWAS Research Grants Programme in Basic Sciences (Individuals) in Italy 2022
The TWAS Research Grants Programme in Basic Sciences (Individuals) in Italy 2022 is now accepting applications.
Individual scientists in TWAS-identified S&T-lagging countries (S&TLC) are given TWAS Research Grants for high-level potential research projects in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
It was created to meet the requirements of researchers in poor nations, especially those affiliated with universities that lacked adequate research facilities.
Worth of Scholarship
- Individual scientists may get up to USD 15,000 in research grants.
- The funds, which typically last for 24 months, may be used to buy scientific equipment, consumables, and specialist literature (textbooks and proceedings only). They do not pay researcher and/or student wages, field expenditures, or travel costs. Purchases of computers, iPads, drones, and research animals are also not permitted.
TWAS Research Grants Programme | Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants for the TWAS Research Grants Programme in Basic Sciences must meet the following criteria.
- You must be a citizen of a developing country. They must have a PhD, be in their early professional stages, yet have some research experience. They must be under 45 years old and work at a university or research institution in one of the S&TLCs.
- Have no ongoing research grants with TWAS or the OWSD Early Career Women Scientists (ECWS) Fellowship at the time of application.
- Women scientists, as well as those working in developing nations, are invited to apply.
- Make a compelling research proposal.
- Individual scientists may apply for a grant renewal if they submit a satisfactory final report on a previous grant.
- Please note that candidates are limited to applying for one TWAS and OWSD program per calendar year. In that year, applicants will be unable to visit another university via the TWAS Visiting Professor programs.
- One exception: an institution’s president who invites an external researcher to offer his or her knowledge via the TWAS Visiting Professor programs may still apply for another program.
How to Apply for the TWAS Research Grants Programme
Only online submissions for TWAS Research Grants are accepted.
Please keep in mind that a researcher may only apply for one grant at a time and for one kind of award. (either individually, as a research unit, via IsDB, or through the OWSD Early Career Women Scientists (ECWS) Fellowship).
Applicants cannot apply for other TWAS programs in the same year, such as postdoctoral, Visiting Scholar, or Visiting Researcher, in order to remain in their home country for the term of the award.
Application submissions must be received by April 14, 2022. It is highly advised that you should not wait until the last minute to submit your application. Instead, submit your application as soon as possible so that it may be processed as swiftly as feasible.
