It is with pleasure that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund announces the opening of the TETFUND National Research Fund Award application for the 2022 grant cycle to researchers in Nigeria.
Researchers interested in submitting Concept Notes in the fields of Humanities & Social Sciences, Science, Engineering, Technology & Innovation, and Cross-Cutting are urged to do so.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has authorized a sum of N8.5 billion for the current Grant Cycle, which would run from 2021 to 2022.

TETFUND National Research Fund Grant Requirements
Applicants for the TETFUND National Research Fund Grant 2021 must meet the following requirements:
Be professors at any public Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, regardless of their location.
Eligible research must be multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary in nature, with researchers from several fields participating in the research project.
When a research project is initiated, the Principal Investigator (PI), who must be at least an Associate Professor in an academic institution, or Chief Lecturer in a polytechnic or a college of education, will lead the Research Team. He or she will be personally responsible for and accountable for the conduct of the research.
Additional requirements include being affiliated with an institution, with the PI’s institution serving as the Coordinating Institution.
Researchers from private tertiary institutions, research institutes, centers of excellence, and the private sector might be recruited to join the team as additional members.
Application for TETFUND National Research Fund Grant
Applications must be submitted online using the TETFUND National Research Fund Grant application portal. Interested and qualified candidates must complete all aspects of their application through the online platform.
The Principal Investigator is asked to go into the online portal, where he or she will be attentively led through the process of preparing and submitting the Concept Note for publication.
