The ClimateTracker/Solutions Journalism Network Solutions Reporting Grant 2022 is now accepting applications.
They are excited to open this call for applications for a Solutions Reporting Grant, with an emphasis on stories related to agriculture and farmer-led sustainable agricultural practices, food systems, and land rights, in collaboration with the Solutions Journalism Network and in support of Climate Tracking alum fellow and current 2022 LEDE Fellow – Mavic Conde.
What’s more, they’re not searching for only print journalists. This one is for you if you want to make a photo essay, a mini-documentary, a radio/podcast script, and so on.
Benefits
The following items will be distributed to grantees:
- A stipend of $250 USD is provided.
- Climate Tracker offers climate reporting training.
- Portia Ladrido, co-founder of Inkline, a UK-based solutions-oriented news site, will give a presentation on Solutions Journalism 101.
- Solutions Journalism reference resources, including its four pillars and actual (agriculture/food systems/climate) story samples
- Mavic Conde, a 2022 LEDE Fellow at the Solutions Journalism Network, provided online discussions throughout the article creation process.
Solutions Reporting Grant 2022 | Eligibility Criteria
- They’re looking for agricultural and environment writers who wish to cover community-based food systems as part of a climate solution story and have already written at least two related articles.
- Reporters from all around Asia are eligible to apply for the award.
- Reporters from Sri Lanka, India, and China are urged to apply in particular.
- two to three years of reporting experience;
- Agriculture, crop variety, petrochemical repercussions on the environment, socio-economic implications of global food systems, and alternative approaches such as agroecology or circular economy have all been included.

- Would you like to learn about solutions journalism and practice it?
Expected Output/commitments from Grantees
- After attending climate reporting and solutions journalism training sessions, create validated climate solutions articles by June 2022.
- Through taking part in one of the webinar series offered as part of the project’s second phase, which runs from July to December.
How to Apply for the Solutions Reporting Grant 2022
