Sanctuary Scholarship for Master’s Students at the University of Bath – UK is available for taught postgraduate master’s program students.

Sanctuary Scholarship applications are being accepted for the 2022/2023 academic session at the University of Bath in the United Kingdom.

The University of Bath will offer two scholarships, the Appleton Sanctuary Scholarship and the Marie Morley Sanctuary Scholarship, for taught postgraduate master’s program students who are seeking asylum in the United Kingdom and are not eligible for postgraduate financial support from Student Finance, for the academic year 2022/23.

Worth of Award: Each Sanctuary Scholarship will consist of:

  • A fee waiver covering the full cost of tuition fees
  • A bursary up to £15,609

The bursary is designed to help with course-related and living costs, and not wider costs, e.g. legal fees, etc.

Eligibility:

If you possess one of the following acceptable immigration statuses prior to your application to study at Bath, you may apply for a Sanctuary Scholarship for Master’s Students. This may be done independently or as a dependent of someone who has this status:

  • Asylum seekers in the UK.
  • Leave to Remain in the UK on a Discretionary Basis (as a result of an asylum application).
  • Leave to Remain in the UK has been restricted in the UK (as a result of an asylum application).
  • Humanitarian protection was recently awarded (as a result of an asylum application).

You must also be:

  • A new postgraduate taught student will begin their studies in 2022.
  • Resident in the United Kingdom.

How to Apply: You must submit your application in the following order:

  • Apply to the University of Bath for an appropriate program and obtain a conditional firm or unconditional firm offer.
  • Complete and send the tuition fee status form to the PGT Admissions office, along with proof of Asylum Seeker status.
  • Use the application form to apply for the scholarship program
  • Completed application forms should be sent to [email protected] or mailed to the following address: Student Retention Team
