The One Young World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 11 is now accepting applications.

One Young World Lead2030 Challenge

This Challenge seeks to identify and encourage ideas that contribute to the greening of cities by pushing the envelope of sustainable building and urbanization.

The competition invites young inventors to submit ideas that:

Deploy inexpensive and scalable innovative and sustainable construction materials and solutions that allow low-carbon, circular, carbon-neutral, and even carbon negative cities.

Access to sustainable infrastructure, from green transportation to green energy, should be expanded.

Promotes sustainable lives by bridging the divide between nature and urbanization.

Encourage circular economy ideas in order to increase recycling.

Prize

The following will be awarded to the winning solution:

  • Sponsorship for participation in the One Young World Summit 2022, which will take place in Tokyo from May 16 to 19.
  • Holcim has provided a $50,000 donation.
  • A team of Holcim specialists will coach you for 12 months. Based on the demands of your project or organization, the mentoring team will strive to speed your solution, such as:
  • a business plan
  • Data collecting best practices
  • Evaluation and monitoring
  • Designing a product

One Young World Lead2030 Challenge Requirements

  • The Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 11 should be clearly associated with the Holcim-supported Lead2030 Challenge.
  • A individual between the ages of 18 and 30 founded the company.
  • Proposed results that are realistic and well-thought-out, as well as a well-structured time frame, identified important players and beneficiaries.
  • Product/service that is already on the market or is about to enter the market.
  • Solutions must have a good societal effect, such as job creation or skill development.
  • The effects of remedies must have been properly assessed and/or quantifiable.
  • Must be able to attain efficiency and self-sufficiency via the resources generated and/or the investments and contributions received.
  • After increasing in scope or size and/or being moved to new places, it has the potential to perform as well as or better than before.
