What is NNPC/Addax Petroleum Scholarships?
NNPC/Addax Petroleum Scholarships is an annual scholarship award for Nigerian students currently enrolled in level 100 in Nigerian higher institutions.
However, there are two major categories for the Addax Petroleum Development (Nigerian) Limited scholarships.
Those scholarships are Namely:
- The Host Communities Merit Award
- The National Merit Awards
The first category of Merit Award called “The Host Community Merit Award” is specifically for the NNPC Oil communities state.
The list of those communities are
- Akwa Ibom State
- Rivers State, and
- Imo State.
Please, do understand that this category of the scholarship is strictly open to applicants who are indigenes of those states.
The second category is “The National Merit Awards“.
This category of scholarship scheme awards is open to all applicants in the country.
This means that students currently enrolled in any higher institution are eligible to apply but there are more requirements you need to meet before submitting your application.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) is the oil corporation through which the federal government of Nigeria regulates and participates in the country’s petroleum industry.

The NNPC scholarship for undergraduates is strictly open to all 100 level student applicants.

Scholarship worth:
The scholarship worth is N100,000 paid yearly during your study duration.
The University Student at level 100 will be awarded the scholarship for the duration of four to five years.
While Polytechnic students looking for Polytechnic scholarships will be awarded the scholarship for two years.
Please, do note that it’s only for the Ordinary National Diploma – OND (2years).
However, students currently enrolled in their HND – Higher National Diploma are not eligible to apply.

What is the NNPC/ADDAX Petroleum Scholarship Requirements?
There are several requirements each student from a different institution needs to meet before submitting their application.
For you to apply for NNPC/Addax Petroleum Scholarships, applicants need to meet the following eligibility criteria.
- First, You must be a full-time undergraduate student in any Nigerian Tertiary Institutions.
- Currently, enroll in Level 100 or ND-1.
- Ordinary National Diploma – OND Students from polytechnic will receive the scholarship award for their 2 years course only.
Who are not eligible for the NNPC/Addax Petroleum Scholarships:
- 200 level students and above.
- HND students.
- Current beneficiaries of similar Awards from other Companies and Agencies.

For you to apply for the NNPC/Addax Petroleum Scholarships, you must be a 100 level student.

- Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)
- School ID Card
- O’level Certificate
- Admission Letter
- Birth Certificate
- Proof of Local Government Area of Origin
- Letter from Community Leader (Only Applicants for Host Communities Merit Award)
- JAMB Result

Before, The NNPC/Addax Petroleum Scholarships was a scholarship scheme award that you need to submit your application at the office.
Due to the bypass by workers or overcharge for the application process, the students were asked to submit their applications online.

- Click on “Register Now” to create an account.
- Proceed to your email box to activate your account
Now that you have completed the process of the first step, it is time to move on to the next step.

- Insert your email and password to upload your information.
- Fill in the form with your personal information
- Submit your National Identification Number (if available)
- Enter all your educational information.
- Upload all the required scanned documents.
- Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate of Origin.
- Double-check all documents after uploading, to avoid errors.
- Upload your passport photograph with a white background.
- Recheck application information to avoid errors.

- You will receive an email and SMS that confirms your application was successful.

How to get a National Identification Number (NIN).
If you don’t have the National Identification Number (NIN), you can obtain your own National Identification Number (NIN) by following this process.
- Visit http://ninenrol.gov.ng to register and learn more about the National Identity Number
- Click “Create Account” and fill in the required information.
- Login with Email and Password to complete the form
- After completion, schedule a date for photo and fingerprint capture
- Visit any of the capture centers https://www.nimc.gov.ng/?q=nin-registration-centres to complete the registration process and obtain your National Identity Number
- Return to www.scholastica.ng/schemes/addaxscholarship and update application with National Identification Number (NIN) to ensure completion.
Important Note:
- A candidate who those not have all the required documents will be rejected.
- Any candidate currently a beneficiary of a Scholarship of any kind is not eligible to apply.
- Dependants of employees of Addax are not eligible to apply.
- Multiple applications are an automatic disqualification.
- Obtaining NIN is not compulsory in order to complete your application.
- Upon submission of your application form, the candidate cannot change or edit anything again.
NNPC/Addax Petroleum Scholarships Aptitude test venues
A candidate must choose their preferred center for the aptitude test.
Here are the available aptitude test centers and venues:

- Lagos

- Port Harcourt
The aptitude test will hold at designated venues to be communicated to the candidate on a further email or SMS.
All candidates are to be responsible for their transportation costs and feeding to and fro the aptitude test venues.
