New Futures Fellowship 2022 for Researchers & Advocates ($1,000 stipend)

Do you want to work on creative solutions to the climate issue this summer? Do you have strong academic research capabilities or cutting-edge digital design, video production, media pitching, or other creative communications talents as an undergraduate, graduate, or postdoctoral student? Now is the time to apply for the New Futures Fellowship 2022.

New Futures Fellowship 2022

Young people are at the vanguard of climate action, calling on policymakers to act quickly and aggressively. However, development is now too sluggish to address the scope of the issue and focus on the people who are most affected by climate change. Everyone must participate in the climate justice movement, and new paths to advancement must be created. This is something that the New Futures Fellowship allows you to undertake.

Researchers and activists from many fields, nationalities, and backgrounds participate in the Fellowship program to share their knowledge and dedication to change. The subjects of health, music, and Web3 this year provide possibilities to design realistic solutions to real-world challenges. Fellowship teams will collaborate to choose a focus that is based on actual data and has the ability to accelerate change in each of these areas.

New Futures Fellowship Themes for 2022: Health, Music, and Web3

Climate + Health: The climate issue is closely linked to one’s health and well-being. This fellowship group will focus on one component of the link, which is rooted in Sustainable Development Goal 3. Climate-related bodily damage and illnesses, mental health and eco-anxiety, uneven access to health services, dental health, health education, and any other health-related subject relevant to the fellowship group’s objectives are all possible areas of focus. The goal of this study is to produce advocacy-based suggestions and human-rights-compliant remedies to climate-change-related health problems.

Climate Change and Music: The music business is a microcosm of the global warming catastrophe. It deals with a variety of human-caused climate change factors, including travel, building, energy, industry, and communication. This fellowship group will focus on one or more aspects of the music business, providing ideas for federal or municipal policy, venue policy, artist and fan suggestions, and/or any number of creative, fair solutions.

Climate + Web3: This fellowship group will research an aspect of how our digital future will interact with climate change, the existential threat of our time, and propose potential U.S. federal policy solutions that will address both climate and community impact, potentially tackling approaches to decentralized finance, art production, and NFTs, and/or the metaverse.
