Netflix Postgraduate Scholarship Programme for South Africans 2022

We are glad to inform you that the Netflix Postgraduate Scholarship Programme for South Africans 2022 registration is ongoing.

Netflix is the world’s most popular streaming entertainment service, with more than 209 million paid users in more than 190 countries watching TV shows, documentaries, and feature films in a wide range of genres and languages.

Members can watch as much as they want on any internet-connected screen, at any time and from anywhere. Members may watch without ads or commitments and can play, pause, and resume viewing at any time.

Netflix declared in early 2021 that they would assist Black participation in the film and television business in South Africa’s creative ecosystem.

To promote the formal qualification and training of young Black creatives in the film and television disciplines, the firm has committed to supporting complete post-graduate scholarships at higher educational institutions in South Africa.


Scholarship worth of Netflix Postgraduate Programme:

The Netflix Postgraduate Scholarship Programme is intended to provide financial aid in the form of full scholarships to ambitious Black creatives in the cinema and television disciplines at the above-mentioned partner higher educational institutions in South Africa.

Eligibility for the Netflix Postgraduate Scholarship Program?

  • Postgraduate students enrolled in one-year postgraduate studies in film, television, and/or audio-visual related fields at one of the institutes listed below.
  • The B-BBEE Code of Conduct defines black students (Black, Coloured or Indian).
  • Only citizens of South Africa will be considered.
  • Undergraduate academic average of at least 60% must have been earned between 2019 and 2021.
  • Students who are self-supporting (students who have another bursary or NSFAS funding will not qualify).
