Nahom Berhane Scholarship for Leadership and Inclusion 2022 (up to $3,000)

The Nahom Berhane Scholarship for Leadership and Inclusion 2022 is currently accepting applications.

The Scholarship for Leadership and Inclusion assists adolescents who have shown volunteering, community service, and community leadership and who need financial aid to attend a post-secondary institution such as universities, colleges, or professional trades training.

Students that are enrolled in a post-secondary school are eligible for the scholarship (in any year). This year, they’re focusing on African-American kids.

Scholarship

The Scholarship will be given directly to the school, up to a maximum of $3,000, to assist in reducing the cost of registration.

Requirements for the Nahom Berhane Scholarship

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution (in any year)
  • Have spent at least two years in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
  • You must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
  • (Please note: Applicants who are seeking to become permanent residents and have documents from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) allowing them to study at a post-secondary institution are eligible to apply.) It will be necessary to provide proof of an application with the IRCC.
    Visitors and overseas students are not eligible for the scholarship.)
  • Have a demonstrated history of community participation and volunteering
  • Have proven community leadership/are community mobilizers
  • Are sponsored by a mentor/mentor organization that agrees to function as the applicant’s mentor for the term of the scholarship.
  • Make a good difference in the GTA

How to Apply for the Nahom Berhane Scholarship

By March 31, 2022, at 5 p.m., all scholarship applications and accompanying paperwork must be submitted. After the deadline, no applications will be accepted.
