For the academic year 2022/23, the University of Nairobi is accepting applications for the Masters Programme in German Studies for International Students.

Masters Programme in German Studies

This program seeks to prepare young African graduates of German programs for a career as a German teacher as well as an academic career, in light of the growing demand for skilled instructors at universities in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Worth of Scholarship

Benefits of a scholarship include:

  • Monthly grant rate of 240 euros (for Kenyans) or
  • The monthly grant rate is 380 euros (for non-Kenyans)
  • Payment of tuition fees at the University of Newcastle
  • Grant for research each year
  • Health-care coverage (for non-Kenyans only)
  • Allowance for travel (for non-Kenyans only)

Masters Programme in German Studies | Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in German Studies or German as a Foreign Language (DaF).
  • Second Class Upper Honors, at the very least
  • German language skills of at least B2 level or comparable
  • At the time of application, the most recent degree should not be older than six years.
