The Minerva Scholarship Fund Foundation was established with the goal of providing scholarships for study and research projects in a variety of subjects. The MSF, in particular, works to support excellent and unique student initiatives both in the Netherlands and abroad. The Leiden Minerva Student Association established the Minerva Scholarship Fund.

The Minerva Scholarship Fund Foundation (MSF) has been awarding scholarships to Leiden University students of many disciplines for study and research initiatives since 2009. The MSF also works to assist outstanding student initiatives across the world.

The Minerva Scholarship Fund Foundation (MSF) grants scholarships to the following faculties:

Archaeology, Humanities, Medicine/LUMC, Governance and Global Affairs, Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences, Science, Interfacultair Centrum voor Lerarenopleiding, Onderwijsontwikkeling en Nascholing (ICLON).

Leiden University Minerva Scholarship | Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Minerva Scholarship Fund for International Students at Leiden University, you must complete the following requirements:

Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply.
Applicants must enroll in a full-time program to be considered.
Applicants must be enrolled at Leiden University as a Bachelor or Master’s student.
You don’t have to be a member of L.S.V. Minerva to participate.
The application is for a study or research project in the Netherlands or abroad that is special or distinguished.
The project might be classified as an internship, a study, or a research project. Complete Master’s programs and PhD tracks are not eligible.

Make sure you have all of the necessary documentation.
Before the deadline, send your full application dossier to the address provided.

All applications will be evaluated by the allocation committee (composed of Leiden academics from several disciplines) based on established criteria. The relevance of the study and how it will contribute to the growth of academic knowledge are considered during the review process. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be notified (maximum) one month following the application deadline.

Deadlines for applications: April 15 and December 15, 2022.
