Africa will have the world’s biggest labor force by 2035.

Africa is at the vanguard of the digital economy, with a rapidly rising and youthful population.

Africa already has one of the greatest rates of entrepreneurship in the world, with African women twice as likely to start a company than women in other parts of the globe.

This expansion will offer both obstacles and possibilities in equal proportion.

The Kofi Annan Award for African Innovation aims to increase awareness of the potential of African entrepreneurs to meet the Sustainable Development Goals while also honoring the late Kofi Annan’s legacy and dedication to a more fair and equitable society.
