Joan Shorenstein Fellowship Program at Harvard Kennedy School 2022-2023 (Stipend of $30,000)
The Joan Shorenstein Fellowship Program 2022-2023 is now accepting applications.
The Fellowship is intended to provide journalists, researchers, politicians, and policymakers a chance to reflect.
A Fellowship provides time and resources for busy professionals to think, investigate, and write on problems essential to our media and politics.
A fellow’s major responsibility is to do research and prepare a paper on a media/politics issue.
The Shorenstein Center tries to establish an atmosphere in which fellows can perform their best work, with faculty assistance, weekly peer discussion groups, and access to all of Harvard’s resources, including world-class libraries and renowned experts on a wide range of issues.
Throughout the semester, fellows will attend regular Center activities, such as thought-provoking media speakers and social gatherings.
Fellows depart the Center with lifelong friendships and vital professional contacts.
Fellowship
Fellows receive a $30,000 stipend, which is paid in monthly installments at the conclusion of each month throughout the four-month semester. The Shorenstein Center does not cover travel or housing costs.
Fellows are given a workstation at the Shorenstein Center fellows’ suite, as well as a computer, phone, Harvard email account, and a Harvard ID that allows them access to libraries and other resources.
Fellows may also hire a compensated Harvard Kennedy School student research assistant (up to 10 hours per week) to work on their projects.
