International Excellence Scholarship for International Students in New Zealand 2022

For the academic year 2022/23, the University of Waikato is accepting applications for the International Excellence Scholarship for International Students in New Zealand.

The scholarship was founded in 2015 to encourage globalization and increase educational possibilities.

It was also created to assist bright overseas candidates who are enrolling in undergraduate or postgraduate programs for the first time.

Worth of Scholarship

  • The undergraduate scholarships are worth up to NZD$20,000.
  • Students and postgraduate students may get up to NZD$15,000 in funding.
  • Successful candidates may also be asked to serve as university worldwide ambassadors.

Requirements for the International Excellence Scholarship for International Students

Applicants must meet the following requirements in order to be considered:

  • not having paid the application costs at the time of submission;
  • as a new overseas student, be seeking to attend full-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate degree;
  • a conditional or unconditional offer of a seat at the university (including a route offered for the Certificate of Attainment in the English Language; International Diploma (Business); International Diploma (Computer Science); or Diploma of Postgraduate Preparation (Pre-Masters);
  • have a minimum GPA-equivalent of B+ in the most recent qualification used to get admission to your university qualification;
  • not be enrolled at the university (including the Certificate of Attainment in the English Language, the Certificate of Attainment in Foundation Studies, the International Diploma (Business) or the International Diploma (Computer Science); Diploma of Postgraduate Preparation (PreMasters), or any other pre-degree pathway program);
  • You must not be going to the institution as a sponsored student, on a Guaranteed Credit Arrangement, or as part of a study abroad or student exchange program.

How to Apply for the International Excellence Scholarship for International Students

All of the following items must be uploaded as part of the online application for the International Excellence Scholarship:

  • their university’s conditional or unconditional offer of a seat;
  • a personal statement that includes the following information (as shown on the template):
  • Explain why you want to study at the University of Michigan in 100 words or fewer.
  • In 100 words or fewer, describe how you will be a worldwide advocate for Waikato.

Application deadline: Scholarship applications are accepted at any time, and decisions are usually made within 8 to 12 weeks after submission.
