HBCU Digital Media Fellowship for Online Journalism Students in USA 2022

The HBCU Digital Media Fellowship for Online Journalism Students in the United States is now accepting applications for the class of 2022 via the Online News Association (ONA).

HBCU Digital Media Fellowship

The fellowship is focused on providing students with a highly engaging conference experience, with an emphasis on the changing nature of internet journalism. Students’ schedules are customized to their specific career goals, and they have time to participate in conference sessions and networking events where they may meet experienced digital journalism pioneers.

Worth of Scholarship

  • The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has supported the program yearly since 2014, and each fellow will get a complimentary conference registration to ONA22 as well as a one-year ONA membership.
  • Fellows will work closely with Michael Grant, the founder of Get Current Studio, as their primary mentor.
  • They will collaborate with mentors to create multimedia packages for the conference, as well as get intense digital journalism training.
  • Fellows also get the opportunity to network and receive training from industry heavyweights, such as Microsoft in the past.

HBCU Digital Media Fellowship | Eligibility Criteria

The Fellowship is open to up to five Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) students with outstanding academic and journalistic accomplishments.
