GMIT MSc Postgraduate Research Opportunity: Interested and qualified people are asked to apply for a two-year financed MSc post at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) in Dublin’s Marine and Freshwater Research Centre (MFRC).

The MSc Postgraduate Research project is titled “Improving Corncrake Conservation Value:

The impact of different kinds and qualities of early and late cover (ELC) on invertebrate diversity and abundance”.

GMIT MSc Postgraduate Research Opportunity | Details

  • This MSc will assess the influence of different ELC cover types and quality on invertebrate diversity and abundance conservation and growth.
  • Students at GMIT will be asked to collaborate across all partners with the EU LIFE Atlantic Crex team to:
  • Collect invertebrate samples
  • Identification and investigation Surveys of habitat and data gathering on-site characteristics
  • Attend national and international conferences to present your findings.
  • MSc Thesis in its Final Form

Requirements for the GMIT MSc Postgraduate Research Opportunity

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements to be considered for the GMIT MSc Postgraduate Research opportunity:

  • Applicants must have a BSc in Biology, Zoology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a similar area (honors, minimum 2:2, although 2:1 or above is preferred).
  • A clean driver’s license is required.
  • Working as part of a team is a plus.
  • Interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities are all important.
  • Proof of English language competency
