The Free University of Berlin Scholarships
The Freie Universitat Berlin, usually known as the Free Institution of Berlin in English, is a German public research university.
Since its founding in 1948, the university has maintained its academic freedom status as a member of the Western Free World. It is also a member of Germany’s leading eleven institutions and has consistently been named one of Germany’s Universities of Excellence.
Except for certain postgraduate programs, the Free University of Berlin has no tuition fees. Students will only pay minimal fees for registration or other uses each semester.
Those with a study permit may work (except as a student tutor) to help pay for their living expenses. Those who get sponsorships, on the other hand, are not permitted to work.
All academic documents, an online application form, an IELTS or TOEFL certificate (this part is waived for candidates who can provide other proofs), a passport, a student visa, a motivation letter, a research outline (for MA, Ph.D. applicants), a supervisor agreement form (for Ph.D. applicants), and other supporting documents are required for international students.
SBW Berlin Scholarships
The scholarship recipient’s plan to return to his or her home country to work for at least 18 months following the study program is one of the most important conditions of the SBW Berlin award.
As a result, SBW Berlin has been assisting all scholarship winners in achieving their professional objectives in their home countries from the launch of the program.
This is accomplished via collaboration with other organizations, as well as SBW Berlin’s aid with targeted job searches in the scholarship winners’ home countries and subsequent employment preparation.
Furthermore, all generated non-profit social initiatives should have significant ties to the scholarship winners’ home countries.
Our award is currently only available to students from Eastern Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa. Due to the present economic and/or social circumstances, these places, in our opinion, need the greatest assistance in their growth.
DAAD Scholarships and Research Grants
International students may apply to a variety of DAAD scholarship programs throughout the year, depending on their availability.
They may also be business-affiliated foundations or third-party foundations. The DAAD scholarship database contains information on different kinds of scholarships as well as appropriate offers.
Although certain DAAD scholarship and financing programs may require confirmation of English competence, individuals who can offer alternative proofs of language competency are always granted a waiver.
Notably, some programs may need you to complete a brief German language course before beginning your degree.
Heinrich Boll Foundation Scholarships
International students who earned their university admission qualification from a school outside of Germany and desire to pursue a Masters’s or Ph.D. degree in Germany are eligible for scholarships from the Heinrich Boll Foundation.
Scholarships are given for a certain length of time, but they may be renewed for longer periods of time if specific requirements are met.
EU students: €1350 per month basic scholarship plus €100 per month research costs allowance; non-EU students: €1,200 per month plus €100 mobility allowance per month, plus various individual allowances; non-EU students: €1,200 per month plus €100 mobility allowance per month, plus various individual allowances; tuition fees are not possible in Germany but are possible to a limited extent in other countries.
Friedrich Ebert Foundation Scholarships

Up to 40 students are sponsored by FES each year.
In Bachelor’s, Diploma, Magister, and state examination programs, they are paid EUR 750 per month; in Master’s programs, they are paid EUR 850 per month. Furthermore, health insurance expenses are covered, and students with children get a EUR 276 family stipend.

How to Study in Germany Without IELTS
If you want to study in Germany without taking IELTS or before applying for a Germany student visa, you’ll have to choose one of the following alternate routes:
Step 1: Provide an MOI
The certificate supplied by your prior academic institution identifying the language in which you were educated throughout your previous degree studies is known as a Medium of Instruction Certificate (MOI).
You must provide an MOI certificate showing that English is your medium of instruction to be excused from presenting evidence of English language competency (e.g., IELTS or any other language certifications). MOI will act as a genuine language certificate and will assist you during the admissions process.
Step 2: Obtain a Letter of Confirmation:
Once you’ve been admitted to the German university of your choice, make sure you acquire a letter from the school stating that your medium of instruction letter has been validated and that you’re no longer required to take a language test. At the German embassy, the confirmation letter may also be used to replace your IELTS/TOEFL results.
Step 3: German Language Instruction
If you’re applying to programs taught in German, you may be eligible to bypass the English language exam. You will only be needed to submit a C1 to B1 level certification in the German language if you participate in the German language program.
As a result, you may give TestDAF, DSH, or GOETHE German language exam results. This is another option for studying in Germany without IELTS, although it is not required.
Based on the facts supplied, I assume you are now ready to begin your application for Germany scholarships without taking the IELTS exam.
