FUOYE Denies Rumours of Resumption and Tutorial

FUOYE denies rumours of resumption and tutorial – Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) denies rumours of resumption and tutorial.

Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), has debunked the rumor that the Management has allegedly directed students to resume compulsory tutorials on April 27, 2022, in preparation for their exams upon eventual resumption by the striking unions, which is circulating among both prospective and stale students of the University.

A WhatsApp message with the subject line “FUOYE Management announces tutorials for students” has been circulating across students’ social media platforms.

Due to frustrations and neglect by the management and the striking union suffered by the students populous, the administration of Federal University Oye-Ekiti, headed by Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, has announced tutorials for students of the University commencing on Wednesday, April 27, 2022…”

The erroneous rumor went on to say that a man named Ganiu Oke Saliu had signed the mail as Registrar.

The VC quickly responded with a statement from Wole Balogun, the VC’s Special Adviser on Media Matters, denying the report, saying: “It is not conceivable, ASUU is on strike.” Because ASUU is now on strike, we are unable to accomplish anything at school. This isn’t even close to being feasible.”

Mr. Ibrahim Mufutau, not Ganiu Oke Saliu, is the Acting Registrar of FUOYE, according to the statement. For the sake of their own safety, members of the public, especially FUOYE students, are strongly encouraged to disregard the warning.
