Frances “Frank” Rollin Fellowship for Biographers worldwide 2022

The Frances “Frank” Rollin Fellowship 2022 is currently accepting applications.

Frances “Frank” Rollin Fellowship

The Fellowship gives a stipend of $2,000 to an author working on a biographical book on an African American individual or people whose biography contributes significantly to our knowledge of the African American experience.

A year’s participation in the Biographers International Organization (BIO), registration to the annual BIO Conference, and exposure via BIO’s marketing channels are also included with this fellowship.

The Rollin Fellowship strives to address the disproportionate scarcity, if not outright suppression, of Black lives and voices in published biographies.

This fellowship exemplifies BIO’s dedication to not just assisting professional biographers, but also promoting diversity in the field.

Award

  • A $2,000 is awarded for an exceptional biography-in-progress about an African American subject.
