The Falling Walls Science Engagement breakthrough of the year award in 2022 is up for grabs for scientists thanks to the Falling Falls Foundation.

This is for persons who manage a Science Engagement program that actively engages the public with science, and who want their project to get worldwide awareness and become a member of a global Science Engagement community.

Successful candidates will get a trip to Berlin in November, where they will have the opportunity to present their initiatives at the Falling Walls Conference and compete for the title of Breakthrough of the Year in Science Engagement.

This is a gathering of the most brilliant minds in science, business, politics, and the media.

Falling Walls is a one-of-a-kind worldwide gathering of thought leaders from science, industry, politics, the arts, and society. It was started to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s down.

Falling Walls Science Engagement Breakthrough of the Year Award | Eligibility Criteria

Breaking the barrier between science and society via scientific engagement and outreach programs.

This is for persons who manage a Science Engagement program that actively engages the public with science, and who want their project to get worldwide awareness and become a member of a global Science Engagement community.
All types of scientific interaction, using a unique and innovative approach to engage the target audience.
Exemplary efforts with a transferable and/or scalable strategy from across the globe
Initiatives that have a quantifiable impact on their target demographic in their location.
When submitting your application, you must be at least 18 years old.
It’s likely that your project is already up and running. If you’re still working on a concept, you won’t be able to participate. If you created a project but it is presently dormant owing to the COVID-19 problem, you may still enter.

How to Apply for the Falling Walls Science Engagement Breakthrough of the Year Award

Send a 1-minute application video to [email protected] once you’ve completed your online application, addressing the following three questions:

How can you improve people’s attitudes about science?
What aspect of realizing your idea shocked you the most?
What makes you so special that we should choose you?
You agree to their terms and conditions by submitting your proposal.
Receipt confirmation will be sent to you via email.
If you are one of the finalists, you will be notified by August 2022 and will be featured on their many internet channels.
