Empower Scholarship for Undergraduate Students at American University 2022
For the academic year 2022/2023, the American University in Cario is accepting applications for the Empower Scholarship for Egyptian Undergraduate students.
The Empower Scholarship emphasizes basic human rights education as a means of fostering a more tolerant, varied, and democratic Egypt. The program fosters civic responsibility, leadership, cross-cultural competence, professionalism, and tolerance through high-quality academic support, leadership development activities, civic engagement opportunities, and partnerships with reputable and well-established Egyptian and international non-governmental organizations.
Empower students will gain the skills they need to become active citizens and change agents. They will get the essential information and skills to advocate for the respect and preservation of human rights by bringing together important governmental and nonprofit actors from around the Arab world to engage in shared human rights concerns.
Worth of Scholarship
AUC offers thanawiya amma graduates from five governorates in Upper Egypt five full and/or partial yearly scholarships.
Empower Scholarship for Undergraduate Students | Eligibility Criteria
For the Fall and Spring semesters, apply for admission to AUC before the deadline. Please see this website for further information on the deadline and other issues.
- Graduate of a public or private national high school who has proved financial necessity
- An enthusiastic participant in school or community activities
- A minimum of 95% in thanawiya amma in the scientific division and 90% in the non-science division is required.
- The IELTS/iBT exam demonstrates adequate English language abilities.
- Communication abilities that are adequate
- Public service orientation and commitment
- Possibilities for future leadership development
- Evidence of extracurricular pursuits (i.e. copy of certificates)
- Recent official genuine IELTS test results, with a minimum writing and total score of 5.5, or TOEFL iBT test results, results with a minimum of (62-75) as a total score and a minimum of (17-19) in writing.
