Doctoral Scholarships at Faculty of Culture and Society at AUT in New Zealand 2022

The Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand is accepting applications for doctoral scholarships at the Faculty of Culture and Society for the academic year 2022/23.

AUT is a modern New Zealand university committed to offering great student opportunities and learning experiences, as well as graduate achievement, in an environment fueled by significant research and industry connections.

The Faculty of Culture and Society will begin awarding AUT Doctoral Scholarships in 2019. (Fees). All qualified applicants are welcome to apply. Applicants can be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, as well as international students. Applications are accepted one month before the closing date. At the time of application, grades for the qualifying degree must be available. Students who are awaiting grades must apply in the next round.

Applicants for the AUT Doctoral Scholarship – Faculty of Culture and Society are eligible for a Full Fee Scholarship, which covers tuition and mandatory student levies (domestic equivalent).

Doctoral Scholarships at Faculty of Culture and Society | Eligibility Criteria

The following requirements must be met by applicants:

  • All qualifying domestic and international postgraduate students are eligible for the scholarships.
  • At the time of application, applicants must fulfill the English language competency criteria outlined in the Academic Calendar.
  • Applicants must fulfill the AUT doctorate program’s usual admission criteria and have obtained an Offer of Place (OOP) for the PhD program.
  • New candidates to AUT’s PhD program, including those who are presently in provisional candidacy, will be given priority.
  • Applicants who were failed in previous rounds may reapply only if there’s a change in the information submitted.

How to Apply for the Doctoral Scholarships at Faculty of Culture and Society

Eligible applicants for this award must apply through the Faculty and Culture and Society Strategic Research Scholarship online portal and specify the subject of study for which they are applying. Applicants will be required to upload their resumes.

  • A concise curriculum vitae (CV) – no more than 2-3 pages
  • Academic transcripts and certificates from any previous tertiary studies completed at a university other than AUT University are required.
  • A synopsis of the applicant’s research proposal (no more than 2 pages including references).
  • Referees’ statements
  • The application portal will seek the reports of two referees.
  • If your recommended primary supervisor or Head of Program has not served as a referee, you must additionally acquire a letter of support from them.
