DAAD Leadership for Africa Scholarship is available for bachelor’s degree holders who want to pursue a Master’s degree in Germany.

Do you have a bachelor’s degree and want to pursue a Master’s degree in Germany? Do you reside in Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger, or Senegal as a citizen or refugee? If so, the DAAD Leadership for Africa scholarship program is for you!

The scholarship winner may pick their study program and apply to any Master’s degree program in Germany that meets their requirements. Those that are interested are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility

Candidates from two categories are encouraged to apply.

Highly qualified refugees with refugee status who meet the standards for Master’s studies in Germany and the call for applications’ conditions.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Holding refugee status in their host countries, being granted before the 18th of April 2022.
The country of asylum must be either Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger, or Senegal.
Completed Bachelor’s degree.

Highly qualified graduates from Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger, or Senegal who meet the credentials for Master’s studies in Germany as well as the call for applications’ conditions.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Citizenship of either Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger, or Senegal.
Country of residence Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger, or Senegal.
Completed Bachelor’s degree.

Scholarship Benefits

Language course (up to 6 months) in Germany before the start of university studies.
Tuition-free M.A. or M.Sc. degree programme at a public or state-recognized university in Germany starting in winter term 2023 (September/October 2023).
Additional mandatory training programme LEAD.
