CRÉ-GRÉEA Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for International Students in France 2022
For the academic year 2022/23, the Research Group in Environmental and Animal Ethics (GRÉEA), in collaboration with the Centre de research en éthique (CRÉ), welcomes applications for the CRÉ-GRÉEA Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for International Students in France.
Applicants whose research focuses on environmental and animal ethics in a wide sense are eligible for the fellowship. Applicants whose work is related to one or more of the following themes are especially encouraged to apply:
- Normative concerns in animal ethics and/or environmental ethics that are fundamental;
- Practical concerns about our interactions with other animals and nature;
- Scientific knowledge and epistemological perspectives can aid in the understanding of our interactions with nonhuman beings.
The employment is renewable for another nine months pending review.
Worth of Scholarship
- A yearly gross salary of $43,000;
- A single workstation that is subject to public health regulations;
- connection with a university;
- Access to the university’s services (e.g., libraries, etc.) to which the fellow will be assigned;
- Practical aid with the stay’s planning.
- In exchange, the individual is expected to:
- Follow through on the intended research project;
- Participate in the activities of GRÉEA and CRÉ (conferences, seminars, lectures, reading groups, and so on);
- Present their current study to their colleagues;
- Maintain a frequent presence at the CRÉ.
CRÉ-GRÉEA Postdoctoral Research Fellowship | Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility requirements for GRÉEA’s postdoctoral research fellowship competition, which are based on CRÉ’s general competition rules:
- Candidates must have received their doctorate after June 1, 2018, and before the commencement of their fellowship.
- Both English and French are spoken in a passive manner.
- The following criteria will be used to evaluate applications:
- The research project’s nature, quality, and originality;
- The quality of the applicant’s past research;
- Relevance of the research proposal to GRÉEA and CRÉ’s missions, as well as the applicant’s possible advantages from a stay at GRÉEA and CRÉ.
- Women, black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC), individuals of minority sexual orientations and gender identities, and/or those with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Applicants from minority and under-represented groups in philosophy will be given priority over other equally qualified candidates.
