Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program for African-born Scholars 2022
The Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program is currently accepting applications for the academic year 2022–2023.
The Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) is a scholar program that supports educational programs at African universities.
The program is financed by a Carnegie Corporation of New York grant and is offered by IIE (CCNY).
A total of 527 African Diaspora Fellowships have been given for academics to go to Africa since the program’s launch in 2013.
CADFP shows CCNY’s continuous commitment to higher education in Africa.
IIE is in charge of the program’s management and administration, which includes applications, project requests, and fellowships.
Benefits
African Diaspora Fellows receive the following:
- A daily payout of $150
- The cost of a visa (if required)
- Supplemental health-care insurance
- Costs of round-trip international flight travel as well as ground transportation from the scholar’s residence to the North American airport.
- Applications for extra funding to finance knowledge creation activities and workshop participation may be available.
Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Requirements
A scholar must meet the following criteria to be considered for the CADFP:
- Have been born in any African nation, as demonstrated by the scholar’s passport biographical information;
- You must be a citizen of the United States or Canada.
- Have a bachelor’s degree; and
- Work at a college or institution that is accredited.
- Scholars of any academic level are eligible, but postdocs are not.
Application for Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship
Scholars must provide personal statements as well as information about their academic credentials, discipline knowledge, and administrative experience as part of their candidacy.
A letter of reference from the scholar’s present institution’s Dean (or an administration of equal or higher rank) is necessary.
