1. Quantitative Data Analyst
In Kenya, the APHRC is looking for a Quantitative Data Analyst to work on their Scaling Sexual and Reproductive Health Solutions initiative. The project’s goal is to assess how Kenya’s Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy 2015 is being implemented.
Experience and qualifications
- A master’s degree in statistics, demography, epidemiology, public health, or a related field is required.
- Statistics knowledge and familiarity with statistical programs for analyzing huge datasets are required (g. STATA, R software).
- Experience with GIS data analysis and mapping, as well as data visualizations utilizing Microsoft Excel or equivalent software.
- At least 5 years of experience as a data analyst is required.
- Strong analytical skills, including the capacity to gather, organize, analyze, and distribute large volumes of data/information with precision.
- Excellent communication abilities in writing.

2. Qualitative Data Analyst
In Kenya, the APHRC is looking for Qualitative Data Analysts to work on its Scaling Sexual and Reproductive Health Solutions initiative. The project’s goal is to assess how Kenya’s Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy 2015 is being implemented.
Qualifications and competencies
- A bachelor’s degree in any social science or equivalent qualification is required.
- For data administration and analysis, proficiency with one or more statistical analysis software tools, such as NVivo.
- At least two years of expertise utilizing the content analysis to analyze qualitative data, including the use of conceptual frameworks, codebook construction, and coding.
- Quick qualitative analysis experience is a plus.
- Excellent report writing abilities and expertise in delivering high-quality qualitative analysis reports.
- Excellent communication abilities in writing.
- Working on health and/or social science research initiatives is a plus.
- Basic principles of confidentiality and data security are understood.

3. Transcribers
Transcribers are needed for the APHRC’s Scaling Sexual and Reproductive Health Solutions initiative in Kenya. The project’s goal is to assess how Kenya’s Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy 2015 is being implemented.
- A bachelor’s degree
- Proficient in English and Swahili
- Experience transcribing qualitative interviews is a plus.
- A typing speed of at least 60 words per minute (WPM) is required.
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
- Self-discipline and the capacity to submit high-quality, self-edited work.
- Experience conducting and coding qualitative research is a plus.

4. Research Officer
The APHRC is looking for a Research Officer to help with the project activities of Countdown 2030, particularly in Kenya.
Experience and Qualifications
- A master’s degree in population studies/demography, statistics, epidemiology, economics, or a related subject is required.
- At least two years of research experience after completing a Master’s degree.
- Proven quantitative skills, as well as knowledge of associated analysis software STATA, SPSS, and R, are examples of statistical software.
- Analyzing regular healthcare data (DHIS2) and national health surveys is a plus (DHS, MICS, SMART, PMA, SPA).
- Experience leading data gathering teams and doing field research.
Experience with presenting research evidence to policymakers and other relevant stakeholders. - Ability to work independently, prioritize activities, juggle several projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, as well as the ability to operate as part of a multicultural team.
- The ability to talk and write in English is required. It will be great if you are fluent in French.

5. Carta Curriculum and ToT Materials Copy Editor and Graphic Designer
The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) in Kenya and the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa are leading the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA). CARTA is looking for a group of people that can help with the following:
- Edit Curriculums and Training of Trainers materials in a professional manner.
- To create graphic design work and deliver a web-based educational series.
