AIMS PhD Scholarships in Data Science at Quantum Leap Africa 2022

For the 2022/23 academic year, the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) welcomes applications for AIMS PhD Scholarships in Data Science at Quantum Leap Africa (QLA) in Rwanda.

The curriculum will concentrate on the theoretical underpinnings of data science as well as data science applications to enhance Africans’ everyday lives. It is based on the belief that current data science methodologies need a mix of skills. Mathematics, statistics, computer science, and applied sciences are all covered under this skill.

Worth of Scholarship

This scholarship is completely supported and includes all expenses.

• stipend,
• equipment,
• insurance for health,
• relocating expenses
• attendance at a conference
• the direct cost to graduating institutions such as tuition fees and registration fees.

AIMS PhD Scholarships | Eligibility Criteria

The applicant must have (or be) the following qualifications:

• Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, physics, or another comparable discipline (finished by September 2022);
• Prior work (courses/thesis/other training) demonstrates sufficient theoretical underpinnings;
• Qualifications for doing research on the selected subject, including related programming experience;
• Academic achievement and participation in relevant academic activities demonstrate research potential.
• Motivation for earning a PhD in the chosen area via study;
• a citizen of Africa
